The sky was still painted dark blue at dawn when the Katuwang Resource Center Inc.(KRCI) Board of Trustees(BOT) travelled from the City of Smiles to the City of Love.
When they reached their destination, which is called Ephrathah Farms,the sky was already painted skyblue and the farm field glistened under the bright sun. It was a great day for some rest and relaxation, except that they went there for some other reason–to plan out for the organization’s future.
On the first day, January 29, 2016, The Board of trustees toured around Ephrathah farm together with the owner Mr. Ed Cañoto who discussed the vision, mission and some testimonies and success stories of the farm.
In the afternoon, there was also recollection of Katuwang’s History, Vision and Mission through series of videos. Then a set of reflection was led by the Executive Director, Mr. Lawrence Ledesma. The reflection focused on “Taking our Organization to the Next level” which was based from Hebrews 12:1-3.
The second day, January 29, marked the rigid but very significant task of looking back at the past 5 years of the organization and looking forward for its next five. Reports from different branches were discussed. Improvements to be done were suggested. And at the end of the day, after hours of discussion and consideration, all the Board of Trustees agreed to carry out the plan for year 2016-2020.
The last day which is Sunday was solely offered to the Lord. The devotion is from the passage Psalm 112 which some verses say-
5. It is well with the man who deals generously and lends; who conducts his affairs with justice.
6 For the righteous will never be moved;
he will be remembered forever.
7 He is not afraid of bad news;his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord.
8 His heart is steady; he will not be afraid,
until he looks in triumph on his adversaries.
9 He has distributed freely; he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn is exalted in honor.
Indeed, it is well. It is well with the rigtheous. It is well with Katuwang.
