RAFAEL C. CATALAN, JR.
Chairperson and President
Mr. Catalan is a venture businessman who likes to speak about himself in third person. After years working it out with his catering and food production companies, Raffi took a break in 2004 after losing his right leg in a car accident and then in 2005 started several online companies. They’re hitting big and these days he gets to pass his time with organic farming, business accounting tutorials, church eldership and investing in ideas and people. He also makes himself available for talks on the things he is passionate about, People [Family & Poverty Solutions], Planet [Environment], and Profit [Green Economy].
Raffi is also the National Office Administrator of Family Foundation International, Phil Asia; Corporate President of Livelihood for Spiritual and Social Transformation, Inc.; Vice President of Honey Grace Foods Corporation; Export manager for Giftsnhouseware by GAEA, New Jersey, USA; Online Market In-Charge for SR Foods Philippines; Board of Trustee of Fortress College in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental; Board Treasurer for Aid and Development Partners International; Project Management Team member of Project Elisha in partnership with Compassion International; and Presiding Officer of the Church Ministry Team overseeing Bacolod Christian and Missionary Alliance Church.
ENGR. NARCISO A. SAN MIGUEL
Vice Chairperson and Vice President
Engr. San Miguel is a Civil Engineer by profession. He was awarded as an “Outstanding Kabataang Barangay Chairman in 1984. He is the founding Chairman of KRCI in 2001 and remained in his position until 2004. He is also the Managing Proprietor of Quad Advertising, Navarro Press Trading and Print Services, and Conquerock Konstruction. Engr. San Miguel is the Chairman, Church Ministry Team of Bacolod Alliance Church. He is also a Trustee of Fortress College, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
DR. ADOLFO G. GILPO
Dr. Gilpo took up Masters in Public Management at UP in the Visayas and his PhD in Development Management at UNO-R. He heads the Provincial Cooperative Office (PCO) of the Province of Negros Occidental until his retirement in 2014. Prior to his work as head of PCO, he was also Office Head of Provincial Population Office of Negros Occidental. His office is instrumental in organizing and activating the cooperatives in Negros Occidental including the Negros Cooperative Bank through the Negros Occidental Cooperative Development Council (NOCDC). He is a founding incorporator of KRCI and served as Corporate Secretary since 2003 up to the present.
JOSEPHINE T. LOCSIN
Ms. Locsin is the owner and CEO of Tumandok Crafts Industries that produces export quality functional home and office decors made of indigenous raw materials. Ms. Locsin is at the same time, the President of the Association of Negros Producers (ANP). ANP is a response to the sugar crisis in the province answering the call to assist the plight of the sugar workers. She started her service to KRCI since 2001 as founding BOT. She was awarded as the “2007 Provincial Negosyo Awardee (Most Inspiring Entrepreneur) for Negros Occidental and 2009 DTI Gawad Ginintuan Yaman Awardee, Gifts, Arts and Crafts and Holiday Decors category. She is also the founding President of ALABASTER VIAL Foundation and an active member of Evangelical Business People for Social Transformation.
LEAH N. AGUIRRE
Trustee and Auditor
Mrs. Aguirre is the former Executive Director of KRCI for almost four (4) years. She took a leave from being a Trustee to oversee as ED after TSKI turned over the operation to KRCI. While a Trustee of KRCI, Ms. Aguirre was also involved in missions work being the Regional Coordinator of Frontiers Movement International. Prior to KRCI, she was also the Mobilizer for Bridge of Love Foundation. She is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Secondary Education at Philippine Normal University in 1981 and passed the Teacher’s Board Exam in the same year. She has a passion for teaching and for service to the community. She is a licensed educational therapist and a consultant in curriculum design for community development. She has an experience of being a financial consultant for future commodities for a year. She started serving as a member of the Board of Trustees of KRCI since 2001 to 2009 and became Vice-President from 2009 to 2011.
LIANE D. GARCIA
Member of the Board
Ms. Liane D. Garcia R.S.W., M.S.W, a new member of the Board of Trustees, was invited by Katuwang’s Executive Director, Mr. Lawrence N. Ledesma. She has worked as a Social Welfare Officer and a Provincial Social Welfare Officer for more than 25 years. She is currently a Faculty Coordinator in BS Social Work Collegio de Sta. Ana Victorias in Victorias City; Faculty of College of Arts and Sciences University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos; and a Professor in Master of Science in Social Work in Central Philippine University Iloilo City.
CESAR O. ARTESANO
Member of the Board
Mr. Cesar O. Artesano, also a new member of the Board, is no beginner in being part of an important panel. He is currently the President of Gideons International in the Philippines – La Carlota City Camp, the Past President of Rotary Club Kabankalan, and currently part of the Board of Trustees of Fellowship Baptist College in Kabankalan City. He is happily married and a father of 2 wonderful children. He is currently a Financial Adviser and an emerging Unit Head under Phoenix Diamond Ohana, Manulife Philippines.
Mr. Ledesma is a graduate of BS Agriculture from the University of the Philippines Los Baños and took up Masters in Public Administration (completed academic requirement) and Masters in Marine Affairs (completed academic requirement). He joined KRCI in 2006 as a member of the Board of Trustees. In 2007, Mr. Ledesma replaced Mr. Rafael Catalan, Jr. as chairperson of the BOT until 2013 when he took the helm of management as ED of KRCI. Before becoming full-time ED of KRCI Mr. Ledesma was the Acting Assistant Department Head of Provincial Planning and Development Office, Province of Negros Occidental. His other experiences include being the Chairperson of CAPGEM Community Multi-Purpose Cooperative, a multi-million cooperative of capitol employees and Director, Treasurer and at present, Board Secretary of Negros Cooperative Bank.
